Aggie Mentoring Network Terms & Conditions

Purpose

The purpose of the Aggie Mentoring Network is to enhance the Texas A&M University experience through career and professional development that fosters:

  1. Academic and career success.
  2. Enhanced access to professional networks and resources.
  3. Development of professional skills aligned with workplace expectations.
  4. Development of academic skills aligned with college and university expectations.

Participant Responsibilities and Expectations

As a member of the Aggie Mentoring Network, I agree to:
  1. Meet the specific program tract’s eligibility and program participation requirements.

  2. Texas A&M students, faculty and staff members are expected to carefully read and observe the Texas A&M University Student Rules. Particular attention should be given to the Aggie Code of Honor, the University Statement on Harassment and Discrimination and the Students’ Rights and Responsibilities.

  3. Respect the sensitivity of information shared as part of my mentoring partnership.

  4. Conduct in-person mentoring sessions in a public place.

  5. Not share transportation with my mentor or with my mentee.

  6. Agree to maintain a professional relationship with other program participants.

Failure to comply with all terms and conditions will result in release from the Aggie Mentoring Network.

Handling Sensitive Information

As a participant of the Aggie Mentoring Network, I agree to maintain the utmost discretion in maintaining all personal, professional, and contact information given to me about my mentoring connections. This information from any source and in any form, including, but not limited to, paper record, oral communication, audio recording, and electronic display, should not be shared with others, unless such transmittal is required to comply with federal or state law. This does not limit or affect in any way my responsibilities as a mandatory reporter or campus security authority, if applicable. Abuse of sensitive information may result in applicable disciplinary action and/or removal from the program.

Texas A&M Privacy and Security Statement

In accordance with this Statement to protect your privacy rights, users’ personally identifiable information contained in the Aggie Mentoring Network will not be disclosed for any other purposes except to facilitate your mentoring connections and for program assessment purposes. For mentors and mentees, this information may include your phone number, ethnicity, gender identity, and major. Additionally, for mentees, this may also include your classification as a freshman, sophomore, etc.; and for mentors this may also include your education and work experience. The ethnicity and gender of mentors are only shared with mentees, while this information for mentees is not shared with mentors or with other mentees.

Aggie Mentoring Network programs are open to all without regard to ethnicity, race, nation of origin, gender, or sexual orientation.

Data collected through the Aggie Mentoring Network may be utilized by Texas A&M University for research purposes.

By participating, Texas A&M University is permitted to include photos and/or videos that may contain images of you in official program materials. As a member of the program, you may appear in videos or photos taken at events, workshops, and other activities.
