Eligibility Requirements
Participants
- Be 18 years of age before joining the Aggie Mentoring Network.
- Meet the specific program tract’s eligibility and program participation requirements.
- Complete the program track’s application process.
- Must be a Texas A&M University student, faculty or staff member or be invited to participate by a university college, department, program, recognized student organization, chartered A&M Club or Constituent Network or affiliate of Texas A&M.
- Comply with all terms and conditions of both the Aggie Mentoring Network and the software program, Chronus.
Mentee
- Commit to fulfilling program responsibilities, including contacting your mentor according to the requirements of the individual program track; attending fall and spring mentoring events; and attending all required orientation and training workshops.
- Comply with all Texas A&M University Student Rules.
- Agree to represent A&M in a professional manner throughout your participation.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the opportunity to develop networking and communication skills.
Mentor
- Commit to fulfilling program responsibilities, including your willingness to mentor the minimum number of students as defined by each program per semester or academic year; and interacting with student(s) according to the requirements of the individual college or unit mentoring programs.
- Commit to being accessible and engaged during the mentoring relationship(s).
- Be willing to share your personal and professional experience and insights with your mentee(s).
- If your availability permits, attend events that gather students and mentors together.
- Be a good listener, have a sense of humor, and enjoy your mentoring experience.
